Nexus Cloud Solutions is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead our infrastructure automation strategy in the heart of San Francisco. You will be the architect of our CI/CD pipelines, the guardian of our Kubernetes clusters, and a key driver in migrating our microservices architecture to a GitOps model.
We operate at the intersection of FinTech and AI, processing millions of transactions daily. This role offers high autonomy, a significant budget for tooling/training, and the opportunity to define the 'Infrastructure as Code' standards for a rapidly scaling Series C startup.

Tanggung Jawab
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, multi-region AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / ArgoCD) for 50+ microservices, reducing deployment lead time by 40%.
- Manage and scale Kubernetes (EKS) clusters: node lifecycle, operators, service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), and cost optimization (Karpenter).
- Establish and enforce GitOps workflows, policy-as-code (OPA/Gatekeeper), and security scanning (Trivy, Snyk) in the SDLC.
- Build self-service developer platforms (Backstage) to improve engineer velocity and reduce cognitive load.
- Define SLIs/SLOs/SLAs; implement observability stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) for proactive incident response.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct architecture reviews, and lead blameless incident retrospectives.
Kualifikasi
- 7+ years of software engineering or DevOps/SRE experience; 3+ years specifically in a Senior/Lead capacity.
- Expert-level proficiency with AWS (VPC, IAM, EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform modules, workspaces, state management).
- Deep hands-on experience orchestrating Kubernetes (EKS/GKE) in production: Helm/Kustomize, Operators, CNI plugins, and upgrades.
- Strong scripting/coding skills in Go, Python, or TypeScript for building controllers, operators, or CLI tools.
- Proven track record designing CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins) for monorepo and polyrepo environments.
- Solid understanding of networking (DNS, TLS/mTLS, Load Balancing, Service Mesh) and Linux internals.
- Experience with FinOps/Cloud cost management tools (Kubecost, CloudHealth) and rightsizing strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
