CloudScale Systems is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to architect and scale our core distributed data platform. You will design fault-tolerant APIs, optimize data access patterns, and establish architectural patterns across our engineering organization.
We value pragmatic simplicity, strict performance guarantees, and minimal operational overhead. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and hold key ownership over our primary ingestion and storage engines.
Tanggung Jawab
- Architect, deploy, and maintain high-throughput backend services and APIs using Go and PostgreSQL.
- Design low-latency data pipelines handling tens of thousands of concurrent events per second.
- Optimize database schemas, write operations, and query plans to reduce p99 response times.
- Implement observability, distributed tracing, and automated telemetry across all production services.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level engineers on distributed systems patterns.
- Participate in a blameless on-call rotation and lead post-incident reviews for core platform infrastructure.
Kualifikasi
- 5+ years of software engineering experience focusing on backend distributed systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Go, Rust, or modern C++ in production environments.
- Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and ACID transaction guarantees.
- Hands-on experience with containerized orchestration environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems failure modes, eventual consistency, and network partitions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
