Deskripsi Pekerjaan
Shape the backbone of next-gen cloud infrastructure. At Axiom Cloud Solutions, we are redefining how enterprises manage petabyte-scale data streams with sub-millisecond latency. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who thrives on complexity, obsesses over correctness, and wants to build systems that power the world's most demanding applications.
You will join a small, elite team of engineers (ex-Google, AWS, Stripe) building our core control plane and data plane. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role where your architectural decisions directly define the product trajectory and company success.
Why This Role Is Different
- Technical Depth: Work on consensus algorithms (Raft), custom storage engines, and kernel-bypass networking (io_uring/eBPF).
- Ownership: End-to-end ownership of critical services — from RFC design to production observability.
- Culture: Blameless postmortems, rigorous code reviews, and a 'write it down' async-first culture.
- Compensation: Top-of-market salary, significant equity (ISO options), 401k matching, and full healthcare.
Tanggung Jawab
- Design, implement, and operate high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems written primarily in Go (with Rust/C++ for hot paths).
- Architect and maintain the core control plane: service discovery, config management, and leader election using Raft/etcd.
- Optimize the data plane for throughput: zero-copy networking, memory arena allocators, and lock-free data structures.
- Drive reliability initiatives: chaos engineering, SLO/SLI definition, and automated failover testing.
- Mentor senior engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and establishing coding standards.
- Collaborate with Product and DevRel to define technical strategy and public APIs.
- Build and maintain comprehensive observability (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger).
- Participate in an sustainable on-call rotation (Tier 3 escalation) with a focus on eliminating toil.
Kualifikasi
- 7+ years professional backend experience; 3+ years building production distributed systems at scale.
- Expert proficiency in Go (internals: scheduler, GC, escape analysis) or Rust (async runtimes, pinning, unsafe).
- Deep understanding of consensus protocols (Raft, Paxos), distributed transactions, and CAP theorem trade-offs.
- Proven track record optimizing Linux kernel interactions (netfilter, tc, eBPF, io_uring, huge pages).
- Experience designing and operating storage engines (LSM-trees, B-trees, WAL) or high-performance databases.
- Strong systems debugging skills: perf, bpftrace, delve, Wireshark, and crash dump analysis.
- Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience; open-source contributions a major plus.
- Excellent written communication; ability to write clear RFCs and postmortems.
