Apex Scale Systems is seeking a high-caliber Staff Backend Engineer to spearhead the evolution of our high-throughput distributed platform. In this role, you will own the architectural integrity, resilience, and performance of mission-critical services powering enterprise-grade data workflows globally.
You will collaborate directly with principal architects and product directors to solve distributed state problems, optimize latency bottlenecks, and define the long-term technical roadmap. We value pragmatic design, operational simplicity, and deep technical ownership.
Tanggung Jawab
- Architect, build, and deploy low-latency, fault-tolerant backend services handling billions of monthly transactions.
- Drive technical vision, system design documents, and engineering best practices across cross-functional squads.
- Decompose legacy monolith boundaries into resilient, independently deployable microservices.
- Benchmark and optimize query performance, indexing, and storage engines across relational and key-value datastores.
- Define platform observability standards, telemetry pipelines, and automated incident mitigation protocols.
- Mentor senior engineers, facilitate architectural design reviews, and raise organizational technical standards.
Kualifikasi
- 8+ years of production experience developing distributed backend architectures in Go, Rust, or Java.
- Proven track record designing large-scale asynchronous pipelines using event streaming technologies like Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Deep operational proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching layers (Redis) under heavy concurrency.
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes, container orchestrations, and native cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
- Strong knowledge of distributed transactions, consensus protocols, and network reliability patterns.
- Demonstrated leadership in driving large-scale architectural migrations without service interruption.
