VDL ETG is seeking an experienced and driven Lead Mechatronics Design Engineer to spearhead advanced engineering initiatives at our facility in Joo Koon, Singapore. In this technical leadership role, you will architect and execute complex machine automation, high-precision motion control systems, specialized test equipment, and qualification tooling tailored for the global semiconductor manufacturing sector.
As a pivotal contributor within our high-tech equipment development group, you will bridge the gap between precision mechanical design, advanced electronics, and real-time control software. You will guide multidisciplinary engineering teams through the entire product development lifecycle—from conceptual specification and prototyping through to integration, testing, and volume production handover.

Tanggung Jawab
- Serve as the technical authority for the architecture and design of high-precision motion control and machine automation systems.
- Lead the development of custom test equipment, validation fixtures, and qualification tooling for semiconductor sub-systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software domains to ensure seamless system integration.
- Drive dynamic modeling, kinematic simulation, and root-cause analysis for complex mechatronic modules.
- Establish engineering standards, conduct comprehensive design reviews, and enforce Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) guidelines.
- Manage technical deliverables, project milestones, and supplier qualification for critical mechatronic components.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical excellence and rigorous engineering methodologies.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in mechatronics design, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or lead engineer capacity.
- Proven track record in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, precision robotics, or advanced industrial automation.
- In-depth expertise in motion control algorithms, servo systems, sensors, actuators, and precision stage design.
- Proficiency with engineering simulation and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, or CAD/CAE software).
- Strong analytical problem-solving abilities applied to complex dynamic electro-mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience managing technical stakeholders.
